If you read my first review about the Treat Beauty lip balms then you may remember me mentioning that i had more of their products to review. Shortly after i realized how much i liked the lip balms, i ordered their two treatment balms. So these are pretty similar to the lip balms; they are the same jumbo chapstick packaging with slightly different-although still quality-ingredients.
First up: the Mint & Matcha Tea Eye and Lip Balm. The ingredients are pretty similar to the regular lip balms with the addition of matcha tea and spearmint oil. The smell is of spearmint, which is my favorite type of mint, and the color is of course a nice matcha green (colorless on skin). The idea is that the caffeine from the matcha is supposed to help with puffiness and dark circles around the eyes. There are definitely other products for the eye area that use caffeine so that is not a new concept, but i have some serious eye bags and i liked the lip balms so i gave it a try. I saw very mild improvement, nothing oh my gosh amazing. I like that it doesn’t make my ridiculously sensitive skin break out and i love the spearmint smell because it really wakes me up in the morning. I keep mine in the freezer for added de-puffing action and because it feels great.
Next up: the Marshmallow Moisture Stick. The ingredients for this one are again similar to the lip balms, this time with the addition of argan oil. It has a nice marshmallow scent that is not overly sweet at all. I also have the Marshmallow Cream lip balm so i was hesitant to buy this one because i was afraid it was going to be pretty much the same thing but they are completely different in scent and texture. The Marshmallow Cream lip balm is silkier and much sweeter. The texture of this moisture stick is still smooth and the smell is still nice however. I tried this out on dry spots on my face as well as on my arms and legs. It was great for the dry spots on my face and is not greasy once rubbed into the skin. It did not work as well on my arms and legs though. It doesn’t absorb into the skin on my legs the same as it does on my face but these are different parts of the body with (for me) different skin issues. Also, if you’re using it on your body, you’re going to go through it pretty quickly. I think i would like to see them make a bigger one for the body that looks more like a stick of deodorant.
Overall, i like both of these. They are great for quick, on the go morning routines. The ingredients are nothing fancy but still top notch and i know what everything is when i read the ingredients list. The smells and textures are good and they don’t irritate my skin. One downer is that , unlike the lip balms, these did melt a little in my Arizona summer hot mailbox. So if you’re in the desert or somewhere just as hot, maybe wait till fall or winter to order these. Currently, these are available to order together as a duo and there is a price break if you order the duo vs. ordering them individually. Look out for my last Treat Beauty product review to come in the next few months. I am trying out a few other products right now that i am excited to review in the future as well.
