NEW KID IN CLASS

Sooooo......hi. I have had a blog on Wordpress for a few years and now i have decided to go to a self-hosted platform. The thing is, i don't know much about the technology side of all this. So in attempting to make a clean transfer from one site to another, i learned i just can't do it. I have decided to do it the hard way, and just copy/paste all my posts to this site. All posts that were previously posted on my original Wordpress site will have an "original post" date at the top.

Original post: 02/22/2017

So, i’m starting this blog for the billionth time. The other times did not work out. I didn’t have a plan. I still don’t have a plan, but I have an idea-an outline so to speak- in my head of how i’m gonna do this. Any time i start something new, whether it be a new job or even wearing something new, i always get the “new kid in class” feeling. I just feel super awkward and nervous. So even with starting this i’m feeling awkward and “new”.
I am a little bit doing this because i want to work on my writing and a little bit doing it because i think getting my thoughts out will help me a little. I also think that maybe there’s other people just as crazy having the same crazy thoughts and maybe they will somehow get here and see that they’re not the only one and it will make them feel better. When i was younger i went through a difficult time and i felt like i was the only one who felt the way i did. I ended up meeting other people who felt the same and it was a really eye opening experience, like i never imagined there could be anyone who felt the same way i did and all of a sudden here they are. It was like being the last person on Earth and then all of a sudden finding more people. It was comforting and helped me get through what i was dealing with. I have always wanted to be able to help someone like that. So that is my little delusion, that maybe me doing this will do that for someone else.
I’d also like to mention that while i know proper grammar and punctuation and all that jazz, im probably not going to use it here very often. If im writing something professional like a work email or report or assignment, then yes, of course i would use it then. But this is my space, it is informal, and who cares if i use made up words or dont use an apostrophe or dont capitalize my i’s. I will however, always use your, you’re, they’re, their, and there correctly; im not a barbarian.

I am part of the generation that made ADD a thing and it shows. My thoughts are random and I am constantly squirreling, but that's what keeps things interesting, right?
